Review: Lunas, Kedah

Lunas is one of 15 mukims located in Kulim, Kedah. Lunas also acts as a state consituency in the Parliament Constituency of Padang Serai, Kedah. The population is 18,326 [3] with the majority here being ethnic Chinese and Indian. 

The town was founded in the early 20th century by three men: Soon Ah Lee @ Baba Lee, Loh Boon Ghee and Lim Lean Teng. The town started as tapioca and sago plantations and through the town was a jetty stream.With that, barges can bring the tapioca and sago downriver on Sungai Kulim. Lunas got its name from the Malay word that means "keel", the central spine at the bottom of the hull of boats.

Lunas is located approximately 40km away from Bayan Lepas which is an industrial zone. It is also 7.4km away from Kulim Hi-Tech Park, which is an industrial park for high technology enterprises. The major companies in Kulim Hi-Tech Park are Intel, Infineon Technologies and First Solar, but there are plenty others:

Lunas boasts plentiful options when it comes to eateries. Doing a search in Google Map yielded many restaurants greater than 4 stars.
