Review: Tanjung Tokong, Georgetown, Penang

Tanjung Tokong is located along the northeastern coast of Penang Island, situated adjacent to the famous Gurney Drive. The suburb was formerly a fishing village before transforming to an upper class residential area of George Town.  The postal code is 10470.

Transporation to and from Tanjung Tokong is extremely convenient. 

Rapid Penang buses 101, 102 and 104 serve the residents of the suburb, by connecting Tanjung Tokong with George Town and other destinations on Penang Island, such as Tanjung Bungah, Batu Ferringhi, the Penang International Airport and Queensbay Mall. There is also two free-of-charge transit services,  Pulau Tikus Loop (PTL) and the Congestion Alleviation Transport (CAT) Tanjung Tokong route, which are also operated by Rapid Penang. Another bus service, the Hop-On Hop-Off service, caters primarily to tourists.[20] This service, which utilises open-top double decker buses, includes a stop at Straits Quay.

For eateries, there is simply too many to be named, you could easily find Malay, Chinese, Indian restaurants and hawkers, but also Korean, Japanese, Mexican food and many more.

There are also 3 petrol stations in the area: Petronas, Caltex, and Shell.
